2022 Audi TT RS Heritage Edition First Look: The Final 50 For America

Audi’s esteemed TT RS sports car soon will exit the U.S. market for good, but not before gracing us with a special edition serves as its last hurrah. It departs in style with five color combinations that pay tribute to the 1980s Ur-Quattro and its legendary five-cylinder engine.

The 2022 Audi TT RS Heritage Edition will be limited to 50 examples broken up into five groups of 10, each featuring an exclusive heritage color combination: Alpine White over Ocean Blue, Helios Blue Metallic over Diamond Silver, Stone Gray metallic over Crimson Red, Tizian Red over Havana Brown, and Malachite Green Metallic over Cognac Brown. Additionally, all exterior paint and upholstery schemes get unique contrast stitching.

This limited-edition model also adds a heap of standard equipment. The TT RS Heritage Edition rides on 20-inch wheels and comes equipped with a sport exhaust, Alu-Optic exterior trim package, an electric spoiler, and OLED taillights. Inside, it adds RS-logo floor mats with contrast stitching, a 174-mph top speed, and an Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel and gear lever. So onlookers know you’re driving something exclusive, an etched “Heritage Edition” with the “1-2-3-4-5” five-cylinder engine firing order is displayed on the right-side rear quarter glass.

As for the powertrain, nothing changes. The TT RS comes powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged I-5 rated at 394 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. It sends that force to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and could hustle from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds.

2022 marks the final year of the TT RS; however, the TT and TTS versions of the coupe will remain on sale bit longer before eventually transitioning to an all-electric vehicle. The 2022 Audi TT RS Heritage Edition and TT RS arrive in showrooms early next year, followed by the all-new RS3 in the summer. If you want a copy of the limited-edition sports car, you can snag one for $82,495, roughly eight grand higher than the regular model.
