New data from New AutoMotive shows 34 percent of Jaguar’s sold in November 2021 were electric models. This was higher than established EU brands such as Porsche, Renault, Fiat and Audi.

The new figures were slightly down on October’s data which found 53.65 percent of Jaguar cars sold were electric.

Meanwhile, just 32 percent of Porsche models sold last month were electric, while only 26 percent of Renault cars were fully battery electric.

Audi has ensured just 23 percent of its sales were electric models while top brands like Nissan, Citroen and Vauxhall wear under 15 percent.

Top brands such as Volvo, Ford, Honda and Toyota produced less than 10 percent electric cars from their entire production line.

New AutoMotive says their data is from the DVLA’s vehicle enquiry service API and the DVSA’s MOT history API.

Ben Nelmes, Head of Policy and Research at NewAutoMotive said the switch will help “future proof the business”.

He said: “It’s great to see a well-loved British brand lead the way for the UK’s car industry.

“The company committed to become all electric by 2025 and it seems to be well on its way to achieving it.

He added: “Jaguar’s electric pledge will help to future proof the business.

“The £2.5billion investment will help upskill its 44,000+ employees in electric technology and future proof UK jobs.

“The other side of the business, Land Rover, which will not produce an electric car until 2024 will have to run to catch up.

“We see growing evidence that investors value car companies that make a rapid transition to electric cars.
