The big update on the Jeep Compass Trailhawk will be to its powertrain. The off-road spec version will be the first Jeep offering to get a BS6 ready motor. The 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbocharged diesel motor has been upgraded to the upcoming regulations, which is also said to be one of the reasons as to why the automaker delayed the launch. Power output will likely remain the same at 171 bhp and 350 Nm, same as the standard versions. The Trailhawk though will get a 9-speed automatic transmission, bringing the option of a diesel automatic to the Compass. And yes, there will only be a diesel Trailhawk on sale while the Compass Petrol will be offered on the Longitude, Limited and Sport trims.

The Jeep Compass Trailhawk will also come with the Active Drive Low 4×4 system with 20:1 crawl ratio and the Jeep Selec-Terrain traction control system that gets an additional ‘Rock’ mode. The SUV rides all-terrain tyres wrapped in 17-inch alloy wheels.
