Odd Rods, Orphan Makes, and Otherwise Unpopular Trucks From The 50th Annual Street Rod Nats
We get quite a bit of flack regarding our editorial skew towards the more popular Ford and Chevy pickups. Suffice to say, we don’t have a particular favorite, so we can’t even play that card. It just seems that the majority of pickups built to a feature vehicle quality tends to be one of those two makes. While perusing the sea of cars and trucks at this year’s 50th annual Street Rod Nationals however, we decided it was time to concentrate on everything else!
The gallery of trucks that resulted stunned us to say the least. The Street Rod Nationals has always been a bastion of builds that didn’t quite tow the line of the status quo. Plymouths, Desotos, Dodges, and even a few Edsels abound. But the sheer amount of “odd rods” that we ended up shooting surprised us all. And, truth be told, contained some of our favorite trucks from the show. Willys Jeepsters, Toyota Land Cruisers, Ford Couriers, a smattering of Dodge trucks and even an International or two to boot; the menagerie was strong at the Nats! Take a look at the following gallery and see for yourself! CT
