Transport for London (TfL) warns drivers could be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) if they drive within the expanded ULEZ zone and fail to pay the £12.50 per day fee. Drivers will be able to reduce their charge to just £80 if the penalty is paid within 14 days.
Under current rules, drivers are only required to pay the £12.50 per day ULEZ fee in areas of Central London covered by the charge.
This only covers roads in the heart of tourist London from Westminster to Southwark.
However, the new expansion from October 25 will see almost all roads inside the North and South Circular affected.
The changes mean many residents will be forced to pay £12.50 per day to use the roads or could be issued a massive penalty.
PCN’s will be issued if drivers do not meet the new ULEZ Euro 4 diesel or Euro 6 petrol standards and fees are not paid.
Charges must be paid by midnight on the next working day after the first day of travel.
Penalties will also be awarded if vehicles have not been registered with TfL.
Drivers who have provided wrong number plate details or an incorrect date of travel will also be penalised.

Drivers who paid by post but did not allow at least 10 days for this to clear could also be issued fines.
They said: “We may issue a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) if you drive within the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) without meeting emissions standards or paying the appropriate daily charge.”
They added: “You may receive separate PCNs for each charging day that you drive within the ULEZ.
“Please remember that the charging hours are from midnight to midnight.
