Daimler plans to launch India’s first electric truck
The light-duty Fuso eCanter is Daimler’s first all-electric truck.
According to a media report, Daimler is planning to launch India’s first electric truck. The details are expected to be announced at the ‘Future Mobility’ event which is scheduled to be held next year.
The light-duty Fuso eCanter is Daimler’s first all-electric truck that is set to go into series production. It has a payload capacity of up to 3,200 kg and can travel up to 100 km on a single charge. It will be launched in the international market sometime in 2021.
Top commercial vehicle brands in India have already launched electric buses in the market. But, none have shown interest in all-electric trucks. If Daimler’s plan to launch an electric truck in India succeeds, the company will get the first-mover advantage.
