Hyundai Kona Electric facelift revealed

The Kona Electric gets new safety tech among other updates.

Hyundai has revealed the refreshed Kona Electric. Apart from a redesigned exterior, the car gets new tech and safety features.

The Kona Electric has been given a new front fascia that looks a lot cleaner without the blanked-out grille. The car gets new headlamps and redesigned LED daytime running lights as well as slimmer tail lamp clusters.

Hyundai is also said to have made the car more aerodynamic. Air intakes are positioned on the front bumper to help reduce turbulence in the wheel wells.

On the inside, the electric crossover gets a digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit. The car gets a suite of new safety features including rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot avoidance, leading vehicle departure alert, safe exit warning and rear seat alert.

The Kona Electric is available in two variants – a 134 BHP electric motor paired with a 39.2 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 201 BHP motor powered by a 64 kWh battery pack. In India, the Kona Electric is offered with the less powerful electric motor.
