MG Hector diesel DCT variant is on the cards

MG is planning to launch the Hector diesel with a dual-clutch automatic transmission in the near future.

At present, the Hector is available with a BS6-compliant 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 168 BHP @ 3,750 rpm and 350 Nm of torque @ 1,750-2,500 rpm. The sole transmission option on the diesel is a 6-speed manual.

The 1.5-litre petrol engine on the other hand is available with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed dual-clutch automatic.

The Hector diesel DCT is expected to compete with the recently launched Tata Harrier AT, which comes with the same diesel engine as the Hector, but has a 6-speed automatic instead of a dual-clutch unit.
