Next-gen Dacia (Renault) Duster to get a hybrid powertrain
The Dacia Duster will continue to be aimed towards customers looking for “a simple car that can go off-road”.
According to a media report, the next-generation Duster SUV will come with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Sold under the Dacia brand in international markets, the new Duster SUV is expected to be unveiled sometime in 2024.
Julien Ferry, the product boss of the Duster, stated that the successor to the SUV will be the ‘same’ car. Dacia will ensure that the upcoming Duster will continue to offer its customers a very good ‘price-to-features’ ratio. The Dacia Duster will continue to be aimed towards customers looking for “a simple car that can go off-road”.
The upcoming Dacia Duster will make use of the CMF-B architecture, which also underpins the brand’s smaller Sandero offering. The new architecture will allow the Duster to adopt a plug-in hybrid powertrain. It allows the car to shift more easily to a full electric powertrain at a later stage, using the CMF-BEV platform – based on the conventional CMF-B architecture.
