Nicole Meguiar 1969-2019
Nicole Meguiar, founder of the Benedict Castle Concours in Riverside and fourth-generation member of the family car care products business that stretches back 118 years, passed away June 20 at the age of 49. The cause of death was listed in an announcement by family friend Von Hot Rod as a heart attack.
“It is with a saddened heart that I write this post, our car-girl friend Nicole Meguiar has been called home to be with our Lord and Saviour,” Von Hot Rod wrote. “She will be missed by many.”
Nicole Meguiar grew up in Southern California attending car events with her father Barry Meguiar, the third-generation of the family to be in the polishes business. Nicole Meguiar’s life took a detour when she began to struggle with addiction as a teenager. She has been very open about her struggle and about the program that turned her around and left her drug-free. It was called Teen Challenge, a faith-based program with a strong success rate. The chapter of Teen Challenge Nicole attended was in Riverside, at a place called Benedict Castle. In gratitude for the sobriety she received from them, Nicole started the Benedict Castle Concours as a fundraiser. The show has raised about $200,000 each year for the six years it’s run. The most recent show was in March.
There is no word yet on services nor on where to send flowers, but it would be a safe bet that you could donate to Teen Challenge in Nicole’s name.
