Toyota Land Cruiser FJ could make a comeback; name trademarked
The SUV carries forward the upright and boxy design language of the Land Cruiser family.
According to reports, Toyota has filed a trademark for the name ‘Land Cruiser FJ’ in its home market of Japan.
Toyota recently teased a small rugged SUV during the latest-gen Land Cruiser Prado’s global unveil. This ‘small rugged SUV’ teased is expected to get the trademarked Land Cruiser FJ moniker.
The upcoming Toyota Land Cruiser FJ could feature a retro-style design, similar to the brand’s ‘FJ Cruiser’, sold between 2006 and 2022. The SUV carries forward the upright and boxy design language of the Land Cruiser family and could be its entry-level offering.
Toyota is yet to confirm any details of the upcoming Land Cruiser FJ, including the platform on which the small SUV would be underpinned. The Japanese carmaker recently showcased its latest IMV 0 ladder-frame platform, which will debut on the upcoming Hilux Champ. However, the new platform is still a while away from debut.
