GT Sport Time Trials: Bull Run and Crazy Golf
The GT Sport time trials for the next fortnight have a rather European focus, and emphasize two different driving techniques at the opposite end of the scales of speed.
First up is the preservation of momentum in a front-wheel drive hot hatch. The car in question is arguably the progenitor of the hot hatch — or at least the car that popularized the format — as you’ll take charge of the Mk1 Volkswagen Golf GTI. You’ll head to the Brand Hatch circuit in Kent, England, to take on the shorter Indy Circuit. It’s a pretty narrow ribbon of asphalt and you’ll need to use all of it to keep the Golf moving at the right pace.
Your second challenge is much, much faster. The action moves to the Monza circuit in Italy, where you’ll need to coax as much as you can from a 740hp Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4. The huge speeds there also mean huge stops, and you’ll need to fiddle with the Lamborghini’s settings to set a good time.
Time Trial mode is a global competition, ranking your best time against all players worldwide, not just those in your region as with other Sport Mode events. These two time trials will run through to February 13, when two further events will replace them.
