Cup, Xfinity stars highlight NASCAR K&N Sonoma entry list
The annual summer stop for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West at Sonoma Raceway always produces the most star-studded and largest field of the season.
The 2019 version is no different.
National series drivers Daniel Hemric, Ryan Preece, Austin Dillon, Noah Gragson and Cole Custer will all be competing with the goal of garnering additional track time on the new layout (carousel) reintroduced for the 2019 race.
And yet, the favorite might be defending winner Will Rodgers, who will return to the series but with unproven Levin Racing — a team he has never driven for.
As for the new layout, this is the first time since 1997 that the carousel layout will be used, returning the track to its original 2.52-mile configuration.
With such a significant car count, and road racing conditions, the perils for the championship contenders loom large.
Derek Kraus holds a 12-point advantage over his Bill McAnally Racing teammate Hailie Deegan, with Sunrise Ford’s Jagger Jones and Trevor Huddleston all within a single race due to the large entry list.
K&N Pro Series West championship
1. Derek Kraus Ldr
2. Hailie Deegan -12
3. Jagger Jones -18
4. Trevor Huddleston -20
5. Brittney Zamora -26
