Toyota Launches GR Supra A91-CF Edition for 2022
For the 2022 model year, Toyota unveiled a new Supra variant called the GR Supra A91-CF Edition, GR for Gazoo Racing and CF meaning carbon fiber. The model is limited to just 600 vehicles, making it the most-exclusive fifth-generation Supra to date, the company said.
The A91-CF Edition has a carbon fiber body kit, duckbill rear spoiler, forged 19-inch matte-black wheels, and red calipers with the Supra logo. The interior has red and black Alcantara/leather interior with unique stitching details.
Buy one of the 600 copies and you get a free one-year membership to the National Auto Sport Association, including a performance driving school lesson and discounted admission to NASA events.
“The fifth-generation Supra shook the automotive world when it arrived on the scene in 2019,” the company said. “It put pure driving fun above all else with a focus on performance specs and relentless track testing. Like the rest of Supra’s fifth-generation lineup, the A91-CF Edition serves up brilliantly balanced handling and g-force generating power.”
How much power? The 3.0-liter turbo straight-six produces 382 hp, good enough for a 3.9-second 0-to-60-mph time, Toyota said. The standard transmission is an eight-speed automatic. Toyota bumped the six-cylinder’s power to 382 last May.
The latest Supra has a new carbon-fiber front splitter and larger air openings, while carbon-fiber side rockers define the lower edge along the sides. The carbon treatment continues out back with a duckbill spoiler.
“This aero kit isn’t just for looks,” the company said. “Its functional purpose improves downforce and stability during both everyday drives and hot laps around the local track. Additionally, unique 19-inch wheels sport a matte-black texture that complement A91-CF Edition’s available matte-gray Phantom paint color; Absolute Zero White and Nitro Yellow round-out the color choices.”
Adaptive suspension and an active rear differential are standard, as are Brembo brakes up front with red calipers and a silver Supra logo. The interior’s red-and-black Alcantara-and-leather-trim is unique to this model, including red stitching details on the standard power buckets, carbon-fiber interior trim, leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, and sport pedals.
Toyota says pricing will be announced in the coming months, with dealer availability expected this fall.
